The National Credit Regulator (NCR) issued a circular this week to notify that the Debt Help System (DHS) has been unavailable since 3 February 2026. According to the circular, it was taken offline as a precautionary measure following reports of misconfiguration issues: "This step was taken to allow the NCR to conduct a focused technical assessment".
There has been no indication of when the system will be available.
Debt counsellors have raised concerns about their inability to access DHS, which hinders their ability to service clients and poses significant risks for consumers and credit providers.
